Crunch Fitness Cost & Membership Pricing Guide

The number on the sign — often $9.99/month — is only the starting point, and it's usually the 12-month-commitment rate, not the month-to-month one. We break down every tier, every fee, and what a realistic first year actually costs, using numbers pulled straight from a real Crunch checkout page rather than guesswork.

The Truth-Meter

Three real tiers

Crunch sells Base, Peak, and Peak Results at most standard clubs — plus separately-priced Crunch Signature locations. We map every tier.

The fees they don't advertise

A $40–$79 annual fee and a possible enrollment fee sit on top of the monthly rate. We show the full first-year math, not just the sticker.

Pricing is local, not national

Crunch is largely franchised — two clubs in different cities can honestly quote different numbers. We repeat this everywhere it matters.

What you'll find here

Right now this site is small and focused: one in-depth guide that lays out Crunch's membership tiers, the fees that aren't in the advertised price, and a realistic first-year cost estimate. As we verify more, we'll add focused comparisons — but we'd rather publish one thoroughly-checked guide than a dozen rushed ones.

Most gym-pricing pages either quote a single teaser number and stop there, or list every possible fee without saying which ones actually apply to you. We try to do something more useful: separate what's true almost everywhere (the tier structure, the general fee categories) from what genuinely varies by club (the exact dollar amount), and show our work with a real, dated example instead of a made-up one.

  • A complete breakdown of Base, Peak, and Peak Results — what each includes and who it's for.
  • The annual fee, enrollment fee, and add-ons that sit on top of the monthly rate.
  • A real, dated checkout example — enrollment fee, tax, and all — so you can see exactly how the total gets built, not just the headline rate.

What's on the floor

Equipment and amenities, tier by tier.

Every Crunch membership, including Base, gets you a full floor of cardio and strength equipment — treadmills, bikes, rowers, a dumbbell and plate-loaded section, and selectorized machines. Locker rooms with showers are standard at nearly every club. Where the tiers pull apart is everything layered on top: group classes, access beyond your home club, and the recovery add-ons some locations offer.

Peak and Peak Results members also get access to specialty equipment at participating clubs — Olympic lifting platforms, kettlebells running up to around 50 pounds, and dumbbells up to roughly 120 pounds — plus dedicated group fitness studios. Peak Results layers in the higher-intensity formats (Crunch calls its signature interval space The HIITZone) and relax-and-recover extras like HydroMassage® and tanning, again at clubs that carry them.

What a session looks like

Floor work, classes, and everything between.

Whether you're on the mat for core work or working through a class, the tier you pick just changes how much of the club — and how many classes — you get access to.

How it stacks up

How Crunch compares to other budget gyms.

Crunch sits in the same general price bracket as other low-cost national chains — entry tiers across the budget-gym category tend to cluster in the same $9.99–$15 range before fees. What usually separates them isn't the floor price; it's what a step up actually buys you. Crunch's Peak and Peak Results tiers bundle in group classes and multi-club access that some competitors charge extra for, or only offer at a single premium tier.

If your priority is the absolute lowest possible monthly charge and you don't care about classes, several budget chains can match or beat Crunch's Base rate. If you want classes and the ability to work out at more than one location without paying a premium-tier price, Crunch's Peak tier is usually the better comparison point.

Where to start

Not sure which tier? Here's the shortcut.

Cheapest nationally

Base

You know your routine and just need equipment — no classes, one club.

Most members pick this

Peak

You want group classes and the freedom to visit any Crunch while traveling.

Best value vs. boutique

Peak Results

You'd otherwise pay per class at a boutique — recovery perks seal the deal.

Cancel Crunch Membership

How to cancel a Crunch membership, step by step.

1

Check your contract type

Month-to-month or 12-month commitment? Find the notice period too — usually 10–30 days before your next bill.

2

Contact your home club

No national cancellation line — check the Crunch Membership portal or call your club, since each one manages its own memberships.

3

Put it in writing

In person or by mail, not just a phone call. Ask for signed confirmation or a copy of your cancellation form.

4

Know your cooling-off window

Many states let new members cancel penalty-free within a few business days of signing — separate from the standard notice period.

5

Cancel Crunch+ separately

The digital streaming add-on is billed through your Crunch+ account, not your gym membership — cancel it there.

⚠️ Searches for "cancel Crunch membership" turn up pages listing generic phone numbers that aren't Crunch's own support line — a known scam pattern. Go through your club or crunch.com instead.
